SUBJECT: HEAD OF THE SEOM ARRIVES IN MADAGASCAR FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS 2013
Honourable Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Namibia, and the Head of the SADC Electoral Observer Mission -SEOM-, arrived in Antananarivo, Madagascar, on13 October 2013.
The Minister launch the SEOM at IBIS Hotel in Antananarivo, on Monday 14 October 2013 at 16:00.
The SADC Observers have been arriving in Madagascar and completed a two day election observer training held on 11-12 October 2013.
The SEOM consisting of representatives of the 14 SADC Member States, will be deployed to polling stations in Madagascar following the launch on Monday, 14 October.
In its efforts to assist the electoral process in Madagascar, SADC Members States have pledge to collectively contribute a sum of US$10 million.
All official correspondence must be addressed to the Permanent Secretary The Namibian delegation is deputized by Ambassador Tuliameni Kalomoh, assisted by Ambassador Veiccoh Nghiwete and Ambassador Nora Schimming-Chase.
